Online consulting

Health Prestatyn/Rhuddlan Iach have an online consulting service available during weekday working hours. At times this will be switched off if there is inadequate staffing capacity to safely respond to requests sent in by patients

If you are unwell and need medical help over the weekend, please call the out-of-hours line on 0300 123 55 66

What is Online Consulting?

Online Consulting enables patients to submit their symptoms or requests to their own GP electronically using a secure service for communication. It also offers round-the-clock NHS self-help information.

Requests submitted by you will be sorted to the most appropriate person to deal with the request – for example medical reports or requests for test results going to an administrator, appointment booking to a receptionist, medication queries to our medicines management team, and medical conditions being dealt with by our team of nurses and doctors and allied health professionals.

You may also submit relevant photographs to help with your consultation – but please remember that these images will form part of your medical record, and do not to send in any photos of a sensitive nature.

Patient Benefits of Online Consulting

Patients may not need a trip to the surgery and their query may be resolved with a phone call

There is no need to change surgery to get digital first access. Patients complete an online GP consultation with their own practice when they need to.

Medical advice is available 24/7 even when the practice is closed – Patients can check their health symptoms  online and receive on the spot medical advice and treatment guidance thanks to NHS Choices content.

Patients will get a response from their own NHS GP practice by the end of the next working day or sooner.

Access wherever and whenever patients want from any device. Unlike a telephone call patients can complete an Online Consultation at a pace that suits them, without taking up practice time.

Patients can request sick notes and test results without the need for an appointment saving patient and practice time.
